Tasting Notes

Chateau Du Barry is made of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, harvested by machine. The grapes are sorted in the vineyard before being crushed and placed into stainless steel vats. Here the wine ferments before being allowed to mature in cement and stainless steel for anywhere from 12-18 months, depending upon the vintage.

Producer details

Roughly 20 miles from the city of Bordeaux rests the quiet little village of Guillac. In this hamlet of less than 200 residents lies the 75 acre Chāteau Du Barry. On the estate’s clay and limestone soil, Joėl Barreau and his team use the best of Bordeaux’s traditional winemaking methods to produce a wine that is an authentic representation of this excellent terroir.
